About

After Clare Allan’s son-in-law is murdered, the accomplished grandmother becomes a private investigator whose search for answers draws her into a massive gambling and global money-laundering operation. But she’s not the only person on the trail of the murderer. Michael Stuart is an ex-SAS/MI5 agent and “fixer” of messy situations, contracted to find and deal with a fraudster. In taking down his prey, Michael engineers himself a huge windfall that he invests, only to deal again with new financial legerdemains and murders. The series of events leads to the creation of The Family—an unlikely crime-avenging vigilante group comprised of Michael’s closest colleagues and chaired by the widow of an old mafia client.
